SpECIES BASICS
Pyre Tygers are an intelligent feline species that consist of three parts in whole: their spirit core, their physical body, and their statue.
Each Tyger began their life as a small spirit core that long ago lived inside a guardian statue, one that a mysteriously absent civilizaton made to protect the dead. These spirit cores are usually made up of flames, but they can be made of any known elemental property - this is what categorizes a Tyger's subspecies. It may be that these spirit cores are actually the deceased individual that the statue was placed to watch over or are the statues themselves created with a strange power?
Once a Tyger begins to awaken, the statue the core is inside will burst open and a Tyger's physical body will manifest. Despite them gaining a living body, their spirit core and statue still manifest on their body.
The spirit core bursts forth from the tip of their tail, their neck area, and in the location where their front paws would be. These areas are always the same element. These areas can also be expanded or lessened with mutation traits.
The statue remains on a Tyger's back legs and on their face. A Tyger's stone mask always extends from their horns down to their stone fangs on the upper mouth - if a Tyger has stone fangs on their bottom jaw, the stone mask MUST extend to the bottom jaw as well. The stone on the back legs must cover an area similar in scale as it appears in the image below, but can be stlized in any way. Both areas of statue can be expanded or lessened with mutation traits.
General anatomy
Pyre Tygers' are typically the size and approximate body type of a real life big cat, such as a lion or tiger, but their size and body type can vary greatly. Some Tygers grow to gargantuan stature while others may only grow to the size of a common housecat. Just as their size varies they can also take on the body type of different species of feline - but regardless of any difference a Tyger will always appear feline in nature.
Another unique part of a Tyger's anatomy is their missing front paws. While these limbs are absent, a Tyger's core will replace them and are useable as paws! They are always visible, hover separately from the end of their physical body, and can move a small distance away from their normal spot\
All other unique aspects of a Tyger, such as vents, tail tips, and stone legs and mask, are described above in the species basics section and outlined in the image above!
COLORation
Pyre Tygers' can have pelts of any color and pattern you can think of and aren't restricted to natural palettes. However, there are a couple rules for their core and statue elements that have to be followed.
-
A Tyger's spirit core/element must have a consistent coloration throughout each visible part, but it can contain multiple colors without restriction. These colors must be consistent across the vents and the element they expel, front paws, tail tip, and be present at least partially in the irises or pupils. If the spirit core area has been expanded it must be applied to there as well.
A Tyger's statue/stone must have a consistent coloration as well and can also be made up of multiple colors with restriction - this means patterns are allowed for statue parts as well! These colors must be consistent across the stone mask, fangs, horns, and back legs. If the statue area has been expanded it must be applied there as well.
